Latterly, there has been a new approach to anti-ageing and the way we have to treat our skin in general. The new anti-ageing and rejuvenation methods respect the skin more and try to boost it.
In essence, the CIT and ECIT treatments are similar Skin Micro-Needling methods, i.e. slights pricks are created on the skin achieving
– They force the skin to activate its own natural healing mechanisms, thus increasing the production of collagen and elastin.
– Following or during the Skin Micro Needling, drastic serums are applied that are selected by the graduate beautician – cosmetologist depending on the desired result and in this way the absorption of the serums used is increased.
What we actually want to achieve with these treatments is to “enhance” the middle layer of the skin (corium) without touching and irritating its upper layer.
– The form of skin micro-needling that has been used in recent years is ECIT (Electro Collagen Induction Therapy).
There is used a digital appliance that looks like a stylus on the point of which there are small needles that “prick” the skin vertically and rapidly. Its results are more evident, with less discomfort and irritation.
– Another form of skin micro-needling is CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy). It is the original microneedling method before ECIT (Electro Collagen Induction Therapy).
This is done using a derma roller. It is a small hand-held appliance on the point of which there is a cylinder with small thin needles around it. Derma rollers come in different lengths and are selected depending on the area on which they are to be applied (face or body), as well as on the result we wish to achieve (reduction of wrinkles, hyperpigmentations, marks, improvement of scars created due to acne).
At Nefer we recommend ECIT (Electro Collagen Induction Therapy) with Mesotherapy (microneedling) with Neopen MED® by Toskani, for the face and body.
